Agon Shu's Social and Cultural Activities

Agon Shu believes it is important for religious groups to make social and cultural contributions. Although it is only natural for religious groups to pray for world peace by holding religious ceremonies, Agon Shu believes that basic charitable activities are indispensable to the realization of world peace.

1985Made a donation to the African Starvation Fund.
1986Constructed a well in Sudan.
Made a donation to the African Starvation Fund.
Implemented relief activities for Japanese orphans in China to find adoptive parents.
1987Donated trucks to the Republic of Chad.
1989Established the Aiju-kai Dojin Hospital.
Established the Aiju-kai Shima-en Senior Home.
Established the Japan-USA Agon Goodwill Foundation.
1990Attended the International Exhibition of Flowers and Plants.
Visited Luzon Island of the Philippines for help after the earthquake.
Established the Japan-Italy Agon Goodwill Foundation.
1991Visited China to help after the flood.
Made a donation to China for the flood. Received a letter of appreciation from the China Youth Education Fund.
1993Made a donation to the Japan Diabetes Foundation.
1994Made a donation to the Japan Diabetes Foundation.
1995Made a donation to the Japan Diabetes Foundation.
1996Established the Chinese Buddhism Agon Shu Fund.
1997Held the 20th Anniversary Ceremony of Agon Shu in Yamashina, Kyoto.
1999 Co-sponsored the Agon Kiriyama Cup. Held the Agon Kiriyama “Go” tournament in six countries.(Tokyo Nihon Ki-in. Held every year since.)
Held the Agon Kiriyama "Go" tournament in China. (Held every year since.)
Founded the Agon Shu Business Administration Committee in China.
Donated money to the Turk Republic for the earthquake.
Donated money to Taiwan for the earthquake.
2000 Held Agon Kiriyama "Go" Tournament (Japan vs. China) in China. (Held in Beijing, China, at the Diaoyu Islands’ State-Guest House. Japan/China tournament held every other year in China and Japan.)
Made a donation to Mongolia after natural disaster.
Made a donation to a charitable organization in New York.
Made a donation to a hospital in New York.
2004 Made a Special Donation to the Louvre Museum. Held a celebration party for the Queen of Bhutan’s book publishing. Made a donation to the Buddhism association in China.
2005Made a donation to the Buddhism society of Bhutan.
2006A village was created in Sri lanka with the contribution from Agon Shu.
2008Made a donation to the victims of Sichuan Earthquake in China.
Donated wheelchairs to Yad Sarah volunteer organization in Israel
2010Held a commemorative event for the 30th anniversary of enshrinement of Kyoto Daibutsu, a great statue of Buddha in the precinct of Agon Shu Head Temple in Kyoto.
